Karen is an ACA qualified accountant with over 16 years’ experience in practice. She started her career in the audit practice of a Big Four firm, focusing latterly on financial services clients. In 1999 she transferred within the firm to specialise in forensic accounting. Karen has worked on a wide variety of commercial disputes involving clients across a broad range of industries. She joined Haberman Ilett in 2014.
Karen’s recent cases at Haberman Ilett include the preparation of submissions for the buyer in an expert determination to resolve a purchase price dispute between two companies in the music industry, the assessment of quantum in an ICC arbitration for breach of warranty and claims in tort following the acquisition of an Indian company in the pharmaceutical sector, and the assessment of contract termination costs for the respondent in a bilateral investment treaty claim brought by a Turkish company in the energy sector.
Much of Karen’s spare time is absorbed by her two young sons, but she also enjoys pilates and travelling.
