Haberman Ilett is proud to have been ranked third in the GAR 100 Expert Witness Firms’ Power Index 2018.
The ranking cements our position as one of the leading firms providing expert witness services in international arbitration. The publication comments that we are “…already among the group of firms trusted to manage the larger cases.” The average value of claims that we dealt with in the period was the highest of the 28 expert witness firms included in GAR’s Power Index, being just over USD 3.5 billion.
We offer the expertise and excellence that clients expect to find only in a Big Four accounting firm, combined with the agility and culture of a boutique firm. Our partners are named in Who’s Who Legal Arbitration 2018 and Who’s Who Legal Consulting Experts 2017. We work in small, consistent teams to assist our clients and their legal representatives in a time – and cost – effective way. This combination of expertise and efficiency allows us to excel when the stakes are high, something that is recognised by GAR who state that we have “…carved out a name in the market off the back of some significant cases both in terms of value and what’s at stake, strategically.”
We have extensive experience of working on disputes across a range of industries and regions, and our partners are able to offer their expertise in specific sectors. The article attributes a large part of our “strong performance” to our “familiarity with oil and gas arbitration”, an industry in which our newest partner, Debbie Revill, specialises. In addition, Valery Knyazev is known for his expertise in the CIS region and other emerging markets, Liz Perks has extensive experience in transaction disputes, Bruno Augustin has a particular interest in competition and anti-trust matters, and Vikki Wall has a specialism in investor state disputes.
GAR considers our recognition as “particularly striking” given our short history (the first and second ranked firms are over 40 years and 25 years old respectively). Our firm was launched in September 2013 with a core team of four fee-earners with the aim of building a high-quality team that could take on substantial cases. Now, as we approach our fifth anniversary, our team comprises seven partners and 33 other fee-earners.
We are delighted that our firm has been recognised in this way. We believe that it reflects our established position in the industry and is a testament to both the quality of the services that we provide and the commitment of our people.
